Fam Tour

On April 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2012 marked our 11th trip around the EOTA trail system on a 3 day tour we call the FAM (familiarization) Tour. It’s to give new members, and old ones too a chance to see where these trails lead to without fear of getting lost. A total of 11 members signed up for the 600 km. trip. We start booking all of accommodations once we feel out some interest within the club membership. We ask for 10 – 15 participants and finalize our plans once we reach 10. 10 to 15 seems to be the perfect number of riders for a group ride. It’s not too difficult to keep track of everyone in your group. It seems to be easier to get to know that many people in a 3 day weekend.

Marmora KOA Campground

Ghost Town Adventure

The Marmora KOA is a great campground for ATV enthusiasts and cyclists – a spectacular recreational trail follows an old railroad line from Lake Ontario north almost to Algonquin Park. The multi-use pathway runs through thick forests and past rivers and lakes, much of it wilderness. Our campground lies right alongside the trail. The entire region shows nature at its best, from spring blooms to fall colours. Canoe or kayak on sparkling waters. Rent a canoe at the campground.

The Hastings Heritage Trail is a four-seasons, multi-use recreational trail that follows an old railway line linking Hastings County. The Trail is open year-round and boasts a number of access points along the route. It welcomes hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, and recreational vehicle operators, on a ribbon of land stretching from Glen Ross to Lake St. Peter, connecting them to the waterways of the Trent Canal System in the south and the edge of Algonquin Park in the north. Within the right-of-way of the Hastings Heritage Trail are waterfalls, wetlands, and relics of ghost towns like Brinklow. Within sight of the trail are historical buildings like Hogan’s Hotel, built in 1862, and other significant traces of the builders of the rail line.

  • Cabins trailers and campsites + $20.00 daily trail pass.
  • Trail passes with maps are available on site.
